text-align: left;\">Fifty one year old Terri though that she was healthy.\u00a0 She was not overweight, and had never experienced high cholesterol or blood sugar.\u00a0 Although Terri had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 26, her symptoms were well-controlled with medication.\u00a0 Terri had developed high blood pressure in recent years but this, too, was successfully regulated with medication.\u00a0 Two years earlier, Terri had some concerns about her physical health but all of her test results were negative.\u00a0 Although she had experienced some recent family stressors, she did not see herself as a candidate for a heart attack.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">One morning two months before her heart attack, Terri fell when she got out of bed.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t think she was unwell and simply wondered if she had gotten up too quickly.\u00a0 As the day progressed, \u00a0she began to feel an intense sense of weakness.\u00a0 This passed, and it didn\u2019t occur to Terri to seek medical intervention.\u00a0 In retrospect, she believes that this was the first symptom of what was to come.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">On a hot day one month later, Terri found herself in the car feeling that she needed more air.\u00a0 She raised the air conditioning and then felt a pain in her chest, which passed.\u00a0 Once again, Terri decided against seeing a doctor.\u00a0 \u201cI keep busy and have an active life,\u201d Terri said.\u00a0 \u201cWhen I don\u2019t feel well, I tend to take it in stride and just wait for it to pass.\u201d<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">Terri continued to feel weak and unable to move once she returned home, but this passed after about an hour.\u00a0 She continued her errands, occasionally feeling the need for more air.\u00a0 She assumed this was because of the hot weather.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">On the morning of her heart attack, Terri woke up early and noticed that she \u201cdidn\u2019t feel 100%.\u201d\u00a0 She felt she could manage, though, and continued with her plans to travel to another neighborhood to visit her mother and help her around the house.\u00a0 A few hours later, Terri felt she needed a break.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t notice any particular symptoms but felt the need to go home and rest. <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">Terri soon felt better and continued her activities, but her exhaustion returned that evening.\u00a0 She went to bed and began to feel much worse, including a severe headache, nausea, and dizziness.\u00a0 She couldn\u2019t get comfortable and began to feel pain in her jaw.\u00a0 Though initially reluctant to call an ambulance, she finally decided to do so.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\">At the hospital, Terri discovered that she had been experiencing a serious heart attack.\u00a0 One of her arteries was entirely blocked.\u00a0 After the hospital staff performed a catheterization, Terri felt some relief from her headache.\u00a0 A short time later, she felt better overall.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">a<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lev-isha.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Terris-story.jpg\" class=\"hoverBorder alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-21438\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Terri feels that her story is a lesson to women everywhere.\u00a0 \u201cIf you feel something isn\u2019t right, keep checking even if medical staff tells you you\u2019re fine,\u201d she said.\u00a0 \u201cIf you\u2019re not feeling right, then your body is telling you something.\u00a0 If your tests come out negative, go for more tests.\u00a0 Had I continued going for medical tests two years ago when I thought something was wrong, they would have discovered the blockage in my artery earlier and I could have been spared this heart attack.\u201d\u00a0 Terri also noted that she tries to take stresses in stride now.\u00a0 \u201cI really think that my health was affected by some things I was going through at the time,\u201d she said.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019ve learned since to think more positively and not take things so hard.\u00a0 I believe that\u2019s important for my health.\u201d<span style=\"color:
